Position Business Development Administrator
Location Burlingame, CA
Salary
Requirements PRIMARY ROLE: To support the Business Development Department including the Prequalification submittal, Marketing research, and Operation manual/system implementation. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist in the development of the required documents for the Pre-qualifications (SOQ) and Proposals as per RFQ, RFP and the project specifications. • Become conversant with the history and capabilities of Obayashi operations in North America. • Gather and organize the required information for Business Development including project records, potential client, new projects, JV partners, Consultants, and any other information required. • Assist in the development of all marketing material. • Publish and maintain social media accounts, i.e. Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook. • Track the bidding opportunities and schedule on the spread sheet. • Assist in the development of the Operation Manuals for Obayashi North America direct operations. • Assist in the organization of corporate and department events. • Assist the Implementation of new Project Control/Accounting software (Viewpoint). • Assist in maintaining plans, specifications, quotes and subcontractors for the Estimating Department. • Prepare any supplemental information requested from Obayashi Tokyo Head Office. • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above and other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Marketing and Business. • 3-4 years’ experience in a marketing/business development position. • Experience in Construction Industry a plus. SKILLS: • Must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, with ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations. • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). • Experience with Adobe InDesign a plus. • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures. • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance. Position Heading Engineer
Location Hartford, CT

Requirements PRIMARY ROLE: To monitor, record and oversee setup and operation of soft group mining operations with an earth pressure balance tunnel boring machine, including installation of precast segmental liner, backfill grouting, earth pressure evaluation, survey and guidance system operation and maintenance. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide engineering input to the tunnel superintendent and the mining crew. • Assist with planning, design and coordination of the delivery, assembly and launch of two 6.5 meter earth pressure balance tunnel boring machines. • Ensure the pressure and rate of speed of the TBM are consistent with intended ground control measure to minimize any ground settlement or heave. • Monitor and analyze TBM operation to ensure optimal production. • Ensure that TBM operation is in conformance with specified and regulatory safety procedures. • Ensure that TBM operation is performed in accordance with Obayashi’s quality and safety standards. • Prepare daily shift reports documenting tunneling operations and tunnel boring machine performance. • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above and other duties may be assigned EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering preferred • 5 years experience with TBM (tunnel boring machine) required. • 10 years experience in a civil construction/engineering environment for heavy civil projects desired. Position Office Engineer

Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES: • Gather and organize all project sites Monthly Progress and Narrative Reports by every 10th or 11th of the month and disperse the reports as needed • After monthly progress meeting with Tokyo HQ, assist in organizing Monthly Progress Reports and Monthly Narrative Reports and submit them for uploading them into flowlite • Continually communicate with job sites for progress status updates and any other relevant information and prepare a summary report • Assist in creating the Tokyo cost review sheet before the monthly progress meeting with Tokyo HQ; submit it to general managers for their review, revise if necessary; submit cost review to Tokyo HQ at least one day prior to the monthly meeting • Assist in monitoring projects cash flow status including revenue and cost projection, progress rate projection and profit analysis. Provide detailed report to Administration and Civil Departments • Assist in project synopsis for the Estimating Department • Study the scope of work, create draft construction schedule for the Estimating Department, modify the schedule based on engineer’s comments before/after internal review meetings • Assist in developing cash flow sheet for new project estimates • Updating bid information, general conditions, technical requirements, etc • Updating project information of ongoing projects • Prepare any supplemental information requested from Tokyo • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above and other duties may be assigned EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering preferred • 2-3 year’s experience in a civil construction/engineering environment for heavy civil projects SKILLS: • Must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, with ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations. • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and/or project design drawings • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) • Basic understanding for use of programming software Primavera P6 • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures; • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance; OTHER: • Must be willing to travel and/or relocate to remote job assignments.
