Lorne Park Water Treatment Plant Pumping Station Expansion
This contract represented one phase of work to increase the plant's capacity from 347ml/day to 500ml/day.
The project encompassed: installation of secant shoring wall around the perimeter to facilitate 12m deep excavation; additional 9m deep excavation into rock; 3 new 14m high surge tanks; 2 new water screens; transformers; SCADA system; and numerous pumps and process equipment. Also included was the installation of extensive yard piping, including sanitary force-mains, watermains, process drains, new barrier-free bridge and walkways at Turtle Creek, and yard piping modifications. Kenaidan self-performed all mechanical installations at the Lorne Park WTP and the new Jack Darling Sewage 2 Pumping Stations. Kenaidan also self-performed all concrete works consisting of 32,800m² of formwork, and 19,200m³ of concrete.
