Courtice Water Pollution Control Plant
The plant is treating up to 57ml of wastewater per day. This large and complex project can be divided into 8 major components: biosolids management building, energy building, administration building, head works, inlet chamber, 2 digesters and control building, liquid train, and the chlorine contact tank.
The excavation work involved the extraction and redistribution of 542,000m3 of soil. Kenaidan self-performed the 100,000m² of formwork and the placement of 35,000m³ of concrete for the myriad of buildings and tank structures. Kenaidan utilized 2 Pecco tower cranes and 1 Piener crane on mobile bases and moved them around the site to 7 different locations to accommodate concrete construction activities. The 2-storey 500m² Administration Building contains offices, lockers, library, lunchroom, workshop, laboratory, first aid room, and meeting rooms. This unique and large-scale project had a 28-month construction schedule.
