PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SEISMIC STRENGTHENING
Performed on two buildings, each five stories tall, while 90% occupied.
ISSUE
The existing pile-supported foundation is capable of supporting the building dead load, but not adequate for lateral loads during a seismic event.
BASIC SCOPE
•16”diameter screw piles installed to bedrock
•Concrete buttresses tied to new collector beams for lateral stability
•New below grade collector beams tied to existing pile caps and shear walls
•Site concrete and hinge slabs installed to accommodate continuous settlement of the existing conditions
•New support hangers and repair of below grade building utilities

ADA EGRESS UPGRADES
Performed on two buildings, each five stories tall, while 90% occupied.
ISSUE
The existing entrances were not compliant with ADA code specifications. Ramps were either absent or too steep.
BASIC SCOPE
Upgraded entrances and existing ramps to current ADA code, adding ramps and necessary hand rail adjustments
